Juventus Still In The Hunt For United Midfielder

One of the highlights of last summer was the increasing reports of Juventus being in the front of the queue to snap up Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba. The Italian side have been monitoring the player’s contract situation at Old Trafford and reportedly have been waiting in the wings to know if any update (that will go in their favor) will come up as they look to pounce on any opportunity of taking Pogba back to Italy.

Manchester United were able to block any move that would see the combative French midfielder complete an exit from the Theater of Dreams after they successfully convinced him to remain at the club till at least the end of the current season. The signing of Donny Van de Beek from Ajax last summer sparked talks about whether the Dutch midfielder was signed to replace Pogba and fans began preparing for life after the former Juventus man.

However, while many thought Pogba would sit out games for most part of the season, he has been in fact, one of the club’s best players in recent weeks, and his fine form has contributed to Van de Beek experience a lack of game time for United.

While Spanish side Real Madrid and French giants Paris Saint-Germain are also likely destinations for Pogba, Juventus are reportedly the most likely choice for Pogba as reports claim that he would be looking to work on a reunion with the club he left to join United in 2016.

Pogba is currently enjoying his football at United and is playing some great football at the moment. However, he believes he has a better chance of winning the UEFA Champions League title if he moves to Juventus than if he remains at United. It remains to be seen whether United will allow one of their most important players in the summer.
