Carrick to sign a new 2 year deal

Michael Carrick has accorded to a new £ 10 million 2 year deal with Manchester United. His present deal is all set to end this summer and the Old Trafford club is very keen to offer him an extra 2 years to give him for his magnificent form.

Footballers aged over thirty are not generally offered a deal of more than twelve months, but United manager David Moyes and chief executive Ed Woodward has made an exception this time for the thirty two year old midfield player. They think that Geordie is worth of some extra security as he is the linchpin of Manchester United’s midfield.

Contract negotiations have been taking place for few weeks and it have not been impacted by Michael’s Achilles injury that might keep him in the sidelines until Christmas period. Conditions have been agreed between both Michael Carrick and Manchester United. There are reports that the £ 100000 per week contract might be announced by United in 2 – 3 days.

Michael’s injury would hit Manchester’s expectations of getting back some grounds on EPL leaders Arsenal. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is heartened by Man Utd’s return of thirteen points from their past 5 matches in the league and claims that only Chelsea could stop them holding their title. The Norway footballer believes that David Moyes has reversed the team around following their orotund beginning when he succeeded former manager Sir Alex Ferguson
